January news in the art room

We've been busy in the art room this month! See what each grade has been learning and creating.

Kindergarten:
Kindergarteners have been working on Castles at Night. In this artwork they are learning about line, color, painting, cutting and gluing. The artworks turned out great!

Kindergarten is also working on Textured Snowmen. In this artwork, they are learning about what texture is and how to create it. They painted with unconventional materials, drew, cut and added detail to their snowmen.

First Grade:

First graders have been learning about the rainbow order. They drew a bird and used crayons and watercolor to create it. They were so proud of these cute birds and how they all have their own personality.

Second Grade:

Second grade has been learning about organic and geometric shapes. They drew simple geometric shapes as their background and then painted the background in. Afterward, they drew "organic" musical shapes to finish their artwork.
