Winter Trees Second grade

Students learned many concepts in this artwork! During the first week, kids learned about texture and color mixing. They textured papers in cool colors and then mixed blue and yellow to create green. Theses papers were made to be the trees for our winter scene.

The second week was full of painting. Students learned about tints and creating value for the background of the winter scene.

The third and final week was a busy one. Second graders learned about the word perspective and how bigger trees were put up front and smaller trees were near the back. The added small animals and details of snow.
